Adult Beginner Band Experience
Amp Heads is a monthly music group for adults who want to experience the excitement of playing in a band – whether you’re just starting out or returning to music after years away.
This club is designed for adult beginners and musicians who can already play an instrument but haven’t yet had the chance to play in a band setting. Each session blends musical learning with practical band experience in a fun, supportive environment.
What to Expect
Sessions include:
A short group warm-up
Learning a new song together
Running through the group set as a band
We cover a mix of musical styles and welcome a range of instruments. No prior band experience is necessary – just a willingness to get involved. The more musical knowledge you bring, the more you’ll get from the session, but everyone is welcome.
Over time, participants can expect to:
Build confidence as a musician
Improve group playing and listening skills
Connect with likeminded music lovers
Work towards live gigs as a band

When: Monthly on Thursdays, 6:30–8:30pm
Where: Only Drums Aloud Studios, Beresford Road Lane, Cardiff
Cost: £35 per 2-hour session
